SYNOD SCOOP
Next weekend, September 28-29th, Synod small group leaders will be available following all Masses to answer questions about our current small group opportunities at St. Ignatius.
There are many groups, with a variety of meeting times and locations. Year 2 teachings will focus on the Mass and the Eucharist. Why join? Encounter Jesus anew, expand our parish community and meet new
people. Come find a group that is right for you!
Synod Year 2 Implementation Plan Kickoff
Thank you for your response to Jesus’ invitation to “be my witnesses” through Year 1 of the Archdiocesan Synod pro-cess and focus on small groups. Archbishop Hebda recog-nized St. Ignatius’s commitment around small groups and its numerous groups started during Lent 2024.
For Year 2 we will:
1) Continue building on our small groups with focus on the Mass, especially
the Eucharist and its effect on our lives.
2) Inspire and enhance our teachings of the Mass with promotion of significant feast days and traditions.
3) Recovering Sunday as the Lord’s Day
Beginning early fall there will be teachings on the Mass through various formats such as incorporating teachings into the homily, “Fireside Chat” videos, and a recorded teaching Mass. Special events with guest speaker (s) and / or related theme will also be offered to cover a wide variety of participants.
We appreciated your participation and feedback; they were key to Year 1 successes and will continue to be needed with our Year 2 challenges ahead. Please pray for the continued success of the Year 2 parish initiatives.
Blessings,
The St. Ignatius Synod Evangelization Team: Anastacia Schnabel, Bernie Gauthe, Connie Nelson, Deb Goodale, Jackie Steinhoff, Jerry Polaschek, Karen Millner, Lisa Martin, Pat Athman, Tim Waldschmidt, Traci Arends
In choosing the Twelve we could say that Jesus formed the original Christian small group by living and sharing the faith in a small community. And our Lord set the example by
saying, "Follow me." This Lent, see why small groups – in our Lord’s time, and now – are a powerful way to live our Catholic faith in the company of other believers. Small groups will:
Join a small group this Lent to encounter Jesus anew, expand our parish community and meet new people! Meetings are 1.5 hours with an emphasis on praise and song, sharing, teaching with dis-cussion and prayer. Details on small group options and sign up information CLICK HERE
SYNOD PRAYER
Come Holy Spirit
Make our ears to hear
Make our eyes to see
Make out mouths to speak
Make our hearts to seek
Make our hands to reach out
And touch the world with your love.
AMEN
