YOUTH MINISTRY

St. Ignatius Youth Ministry seeks to inspire and equip young people to become disciples of Jesus Christ in the world today with the goal of leading teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church with the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide. Youth Ministry is open to all public and private school students in grades 6th through 12th. Our hope is to assist teens in taking ownership of their faith, preparing them for a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. We hope to lead the teens of our parish into deeper relationships with Jesus through our wonderful programs!

Here at St. Ignatius we believe in meeting teens where they are at, while providing opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ in hopes of fostering a life of discipleship. We try to do this in many ways, one way in particular is through Core Team Life Night. Our Life Nights are opportunities for high school teens to engage in games, small groups, prayer and so much more. In addition, junior high ministry planning also takes place at these meetings. 

Core Team- High School teens interested in serving on Core Team must attend Monday Core Team meetings as well as Friday Night Live monthly events and Wednesday Night's weekly faith formation Open Youth Room, when available. 

High School Life Night- We meet every other Monday night, 6-7:30pm, beginning with 6pm Mass. Teens not attending Mass should meet in the Youth Room at 6:30pm. Join us for a time of fun, fellowship, refreshments, prayer and sometimes study.  All teens in 9th-12th grade are invited. Come from 6-7:30 for Mass, to hang out over coffee and treats, and hear more about upcoming events and how you can serve on a high school core team. Bring a friend. All are welcome.

Extreme Faith Camp 2024

What is Extreme Faith Camp?

It’s a full week of an amazing camp experience —EFC is middle school youth from St. Ignatius and other local parishes hanging out at a sweet camp with swimming, boating, nature hikes, sports, crafts and much, much more! Extreme Faith Camp is integrated closely with other parishes from the Archdiocese, guaranteeing that summer camp is not just a mountaintop faith experience, but one that builds lifelong foundations of faith. Our faith programming is founded in the sacramental life of the Catholic Church, and our mission and work is anything but boring.

Summer 2024 Dates: June 8th - 14th, 2024

Camp is located at the newly acquired Catholic Retreat Center:  Trinity Woods Camp in Trego, WI

Cost: $100 for the first 12 6th-8th grade youth who register. If you've already registered, this will apply to your youth as well. The full cost of camp is:  $495 which includes housing, meals, all activities, camp T-shirt and camp journal. Does not include transportation to camp, parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp. After 12 spots are filled, cost is $100 for a deposit and the remainder needs to be fundraiser or is due On June 1st. 

Campers in grades 6th-8th (2023-2024 school year) are invited to join us from Monday, June 10th to Friday, June 14th, 2024.

Extreme Team & Prayer Team (high school teens): Save the Dates - Saturday, June 8th - Friday, June 14th, 2024.

Teens need a total of 5 adults in their lives for them to encounter the Gospel and choose their Catholic Faith into the youth adult years. Will you be one of their FIVE? 

If you or someone you know is interested in serving the teens of the parish please contact Bernie Gauthé for more details about areas of need. Some initial and urgent needs are adults 21+ to chaperone events and Open Youth Room. 

Our teens are also in need of scholarships or retreats and events. If you'd like to sponsor a teen on retreat or EFC, we'd be grateful. You can buy stock in teens at designated Sunday Masses, and enjoy an end of the summer evening of sharing and dessert. Stay tuned for more information regarding our fundraising efforts.
